My Childhood Hobby - Tropical Fish

Some friends say that I've a 'weakness' known as "Type A Personality" (defined as 'A temperament marked by excessive competitiveness and ambition, an obsession with accomplishing tasks quickly, little time for self-reflection, and a strong need to control situations.') so rekindling my childhood interest in keeping exotic tropical fish after my BP peaked in January 1991, helped to bring my 'blood pressure' down to 'normal' and under control now...
I've produced a ‘home-video’ to share with you a refreshing and soothing experience entitled
“Moving Scene & Sound of a TROPICAL AQUARIUM". This video aquarium is wonderful on any size TV, but especially on a 29” SCREEN TV.

The soothing sound of bubbles is almost like having a gentle water fountain flowing in the room — soothing and relaxing, whether you are watching or just listening. On this VCD you’ll be blessed with prayerfully selected sacred music and the natural sound of water bubbles.Used on a stereo sound system with ‘Left - Right’ balance control, you can adjust volume balance between music and water bubbles, or just either one (or none, if you wish).

It’s my prayerful vision to make every TV in every home a Channel of Blessings.
You may write me for a VCD copy... or watch it on my Google Video site:

How to slow down fast traffic

My pastor received via e-mail a cute story from a church member and he shared something like this during his sermon this morning... to put across his point:

Farmer John lived on a quiet rural highway.
But, as time went by, the traffic slowly built up at an alarming rate. The traffic was so heavy and so fast that his chickens were being run over at a rate of three to six a day. So one day Farmer John called the sheriff's office and said, "You've got to do something about all of these people driving so fast and killing all of my chickens." "What do you want me to do?" asked the sheriff. "I don't care, just do something about those crazy drivers!" So the next day he had the county workers go out and erected a sign that said: SLOW: SCHOOL CHILDREN CROSSING
Three days later Farmer John called the sheriff and said, "You've got to do something about these drivers. The 'school crossing' sign seems to make them go even faster." So, again, the sheriff sends out the county workers and they put up a new sign: SLOW: CHILDREN AT PLAY
That really sped them up. So Farmer John called and called and called every day for three weeks. Finally, he asked the sheriff, "Your signs are doing no good. May I put up my own sign?" The sheriff told him, "Sure thing, put up your own sign." He was going to let Farmer John do just about anything in order to get him to stop calling everyday to complain. The sheriff then got no more calls from Farmer John. Three weeks later, curiosity got the best of the sheriff and he decided to give Farmer John a call. "How's the problem with those drivers. Did you put up your sign?" "Oh, I sure did. And not one chicken has been killed since then. I've got to go now. I'm very busy." He hung up the phone. The sheriff was really curious now and he thought to himself, I'd better go out there and take a look at that sign... it might be something that WE could use to slow down drivers... So the sheriff drove out to Farmer John's house, and his jaw dropped the moment he saw the sign. It was spray-painted on a sheet of wood: SLOW : NUDIST COLONY ... nude chicks crossing!

Was that 'divine' inspiration?
Let's be reminded that both the 'feathered' and 'non-feathered' chicks are God's creation... and very precious in His sight.

Why I'm now known as "Wright"

Why I'm now known as "Wright" ... and not "Kon"?
It's simply because I believe I owe it to my beloved 'late' foster Dad (a.k.a. Vernon Dowling Wright) who graciously adopted me when I was made a 'war orphan' (courtesy of the Japanese who invaded then Malaya in 1941 and took both my parents away), to acknowledge his part in my early childhood and the loving support he provided for my welfare & education, etc. besides a 'home' on Penang Island.
When he married the late Margaret Lim Gim Hoon ... I was 're-adopted' into the extended family and 'instantly became one of the Kons'. It was great to 'belong to a bigger family' until they started introducing me to their relatives and friends as "the child Capt. Wright picked up from the garbage bin after the Japanese war" ... as I was noticeably 'very dark in complexion' especially in sharp contrast to the 'fair skinned' daughter Evelyn and son Eddie of Margaret's previous marriage. I was so determined to 'look like' Dad (who being pure British was 'red-ish') and my so called siblings who had almost 'porcelain' skin, I washed & scrubbed myself until I almost turned 'blue black' ... so I finally gave up! Perhaps... this could be one reason why I usually mixed with and had many Indian childhood friends as I felt they were 'colour blind' to my 'extra tanned' skin.
Dad felt that I could better blend into my 'extended family' by changing my surname Wright... to Kon, so now you know WHY I had to drop "Wright" from all my legal documents besides the British Passport I had. Was it W-right, or wrong to become Kon?
My eternal Father knew better... and I shall continue to share more on this subject as He prompts :) THANKS for looking into my "Personal Reflections" and kindly continue to pray with and for me. Bless you.

The Real WITTY

Yes, this is the REAL Witty ...
and her name added 'inspiration' to this blog title.
She will drop in to share on this blog as often as she can persuade
her 'foster Uncle' to allow her to 'bark' online.
She gives 'unconditional' love and never hides her true feelings.
Witty's 'candid comments' may make you laugh or cry,
and sometimes both at the same instance.
Your life will be so much richer as you follow this blog and hear her divinely inspired words of wisdom. Woof (bye).

What's this blog about?

Having been around for more than 50 years as a pioneering media evangelist, I've constantly been asked the SAME QUESTIONS on several personal and national issues, etc., so I shall now try to share my "candid" answers on this blog.
Realising that the truth often hurts (my readers, my friends, my loved ones, including myself), I shall by God's grace and with His help... try to be Christ-like in all my postings and responses to comments, etc.
Those who "really" know me PERSONALLY... realise that I'm often "joking seriously" when I'm not "seriously joking". Now, go figure that out :) :(
The fact that you're (still) reading this blog means you're a real "busybody" (
a person who pries into or meddles in the affairs of others -- as defined by online Dictionary.com) Don't feel bad or even shy now... as most people are like you, including yours truly. Some of us are "more spiritual" about such matters... we just want to pray 'intelligently' for others so we need to know (pry) and/or help (meddle) ... and then we must get others to share in our concerns, esp. when we persuade them to join us in praying for certain individuals. So please be 'forwarned' as you continue reading and/or following this blog. YOU may be my next subject matter. However, the following exhortation from God's own Word will be my standard of reference. If I stray, kindly and graciously send me a 'friendly reminder' promptly. Bless you. SMILE... Jesus loves you and so do I.

... brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them]. -- Phi. 4:8
